Studio Higher

So your a keen photographer and you've got a bit of kit at home or maybe you use that big ball of sun in the sky as your main light source and patiently wait till there's just enough of it seeping in through your lounge window to allow you to shoot above 1/30th sec with the lens wide open. Sound familiar?
Sooner or later those walls that make up your living room are going to get closer and closer together and dam where does that extra light keep bouncing in to the picture from, oh yeah that'll be the ceiling, probably about 8 feet from the floor in the average semi.... and wouldn't it just be great if you didn't have to move the sofa every time you want to put the background stand in place.

You don't need to go to the extremes that little Goshy has and take a rocket into outer space to find the room you need......

Back to the future

You're late, do you have no concept of time? ...  Welcome to the Gosh Photography blog, the title of this 1st post is apt because just like micheal j fox zapping back and fourth in time in that brilliant series of films this blog is going to be part retrospective and part present day, purely because it's been one of the things on the 'to do' list for quite some time.... and there's always something else to do!
But do it i have. I own and run Gosh Photography, a photography studio in the south west of the uk, Weston Super Mare to be precise, near Bristol, very often referred to as Weston Super Mud because the sea is out far more often out than it's in.
What do we do? ah i knew you would be wondering that, in a nutshell, we do 3 things:

1. Commercial photography: Catalogue work, online retailers, band shoots, corporate portraits, product shots etc, all of which can take place at the studio or on location as appropriate.

2. Stylish Portraits: Family portraits, model portfolios, wedding photography, and so on.

3. Studio hire: The studio is available to hire ( details here ) to photographers, we run lighting classes and hold model days; more about all of this in future posts!

Woo, that's it, 1st post all done and dusted, it really wasn't that difficult after all...
See ya later, Pop. Whooo, time to change that oil
